OVERVIEW

A branding proposal for a supermarket inspired by local farmers markets accross Latam and Europe, where I grew up. Homage to the local nonnas and the friendly atmosphere that mercaditos have.

Mercadito is a Spanish word for "mercado," which means "market." By adding "-ito" suffix, "Mercadito" translates to "little market" or "small market." The name conveys a sense of intimacy and warmth, inviting customers to feel like part of a close-knit community, even within the larger context of a supermarket chain. Mercaditos are integral parts of neighborhoods serving as hubs for social, interactions, commerce, and cultural exchange.

They symbolize a way of life centered around community, tradition, and the joy of good food. The brand embraces the spirit of connection, personality, and diversity that all mercaditos have with design based on collecting and gathering. Mercadito’s system of elements is inspired by food stickers. These stickers can be used as structural elements, text elements with spanglish and portuñol slang, and as unique stickers customers would want to collect.
